General Info

The main objectives of ABMEE are linked to the sustainable development of Brasov with energy efficiency and environmental protection as the basis of that development.

Specific aims at local level are:

  • To promote energy efficiency decisions and the use of alternative energy.
  • To support local development acting as an intermediary between local authority and national players in the energy market.
  • To act as a provider of wide-ranging advice on all local aspects of energy.
  • To assist the local authority in the design of energy projects and the distribution of public information on energy conservation.
  • To create a database of energy and environment indicators as basis for the sustainable development programmes.
  • To promote, raise awareness and dissemination of results as well as specific measures in order to involve more deeply the citizens in energy saving and environmental protection.
  • Act as a monitoring structure for the implementation of Brasov Municipality SEAP.
  • To implement concrete energy efficiency projects.
  • To implement research and development projects.
  • To provide information, training programs, dissemination of results and awareness - raising measures.

Specific aims at European level are:

  • Acting as a contact point for relations with European networks.
  • Develop awarness campaigns for changing users' behaviour.
  • Contribute to the transfer of know-how and best practices from all over Europe to the local level.
  • Contribute to achieving the EU 2020 energy targets at local level.

  • Local planning and urban infrastructure development
  • Sustainable transport
  • Monitoring of energy consumption in public buildings and providing reports for controlling the energy efficiency measures implemented.
  • Development of energy efficient systems using local and renewable sources.
  • RUE and RES in housing/buildings in the public and private sector.
  • Organising awarness campaigns like the Municipal Intelligent Energy Days.
  • Organising workshops and conferences at local, national and international level, on sustainable energy issues.
