General Info

The mandate of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources is to give advice to German Government in the sector of geology what includes world wide overview of national resources (including energy resources like gas, oil, uran, but also water), sector of mining technologies, sector of minerals and soil problems and sector of geophysics (including seismic investigations, deep drilling).

Areas of expertise: dissemination of information, advice on various geoscientific issues, promotion of geo-technologies, catalogue of world wide resources, geothermal catalogue.


Target audience: global scientifical networking, exploration of resources, investigations and analysis for climate change, geoscientific research for final repositories for radioactive waste.
