Natur & Kultur focuses on environmental education in relation to sustainable development according to the Agenda 21 as released at the world summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Its aims in relation to energy concentrate on the reduction of wasteful use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources in schools, in particular:

  • To raise the awareness for the rational use of energy and reach a lasting change in behaviour and convictions, particular in the young generation - the future policy makers
  • To indicate the relationship between fossil energy sources, energy consumption, and climate change
  • To inform about various energy sources, in particular about the options for renewable energies
  • To implement energy saving projects in school curricula
  • To establish networks on the regional and international level. Our competence in this field centres on:
  • The initiation and execution of projects on the local, regional, and international level concerning energy saving by changing the students' daily behaviour
  • The development and publishing of teaching material on energy, energy saving, and renewable energy sources
  • The training of teachers and maintenance staff on energy saving by the rational use of energy
  • The arrangement and coordination of workshops and exhibitions as well as respective Internet presentations.
