General Info
PRO-SE aim to highly promote the alternatives on sustainable development to local community in Northeastern area for their sustainable living conditions. The development objective of the project is: By 2010 the use of sustainable energy in Thailand is increased in relation to total energy supply.
The immediate objectives are:
- Identification, planning and implementation of sustainable energy projects by strengthening the capacity of selected NGOs, CBOs, LAs, provinces, districts, TAOs, educational institutes and local RET suppliers in Isaan.
- Increasing the sustainability and local influence in Thai energy planning and policy through dialogue with local and central government institutions
Areas of expertise:
- A great emphasis on local area-base SE planning;
- A greater emphasis on capacity development through implementation of more and larger SE demonstration projects, (rather than awareness raising);
- More focus on the private local RET suppliers;
- An emphasis on documenting the RET constraints at local level through comprehensive SE planning and implementation;
- Focus on national energy policy by feeding experience from the local energy planning into the national energy planning process through EPPO and DEDE.
