General Info

CARTIF is a private non-profit horizontal centre covering a wide range of scientific disciplines, enabling them to provide companies with integral solutions. Currently, Cartif has a staff of almost 200 researchers, revenue exceeding €12 million and a client portfolio comprising 120 enterprises and institutions. Cartif's Energy Division focuses its research activities on Digital Home and generation of energy from renewable sources such as solar and geothermal, applied to both heating and cooling. Therefore, this area is able to work on both generation and use of energy, comprising a wide range of aspects, such as designing, energy management, building and home automation, and Smart Home.

In the course of building automation and digital home, Cartif has launched various projects directed at the development of a residential gateway for the introduction of Ambient Intelligence techniques aimed at savings and energy efficiency in homes and buildings. And Cartif has also implemented the concept of remote service through the introduction of new control s technologies.
