General Info

The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) is a risk capital institution financing environmental projects in Central and Eastern Europe. Its purpose is to facilitate the implementation of environmentally beneficial projects in the neighbouring region, with transboundary effects which also benefit the Nordic region.

NEFCO aims to provide financing for environmentally and economically sound projects within ESP and renewable energy sector in NW Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic states. The projects should benefit both the environment of the Nordic countries as well as the local environment where projects are implemented. Another aim is Nordic technology transfer to the countries before mentioned.


Areas of expertise: Energy efficiency in buildings and industries, CHP, wind farms, insulation, waste management and treatment.
