General Info

The aim of EEA is the promotion of Energy Efficiency & Renewable energy for all sectors and aspects of life in the country and:
  • contribute to sustainable economic development in Bulgaria, by reducing the waste of energy,
  • contribute to environmental improvement at the national and at the global level by reducing harmful emissions,
  • save foreign exchange by reducing energy imports,
  • introduce market conditions in the energy sector and to increase the competitiveness of Bulgarian production,
  • introduce large-scale application of New and Renewable Energy Sources in all economic sectors and all aspects of life in the country,
  • prepare Bulgaria for the accession to the European Union

This is achieved through: educational programmes; mass media campaigns; energy audits, training and promotion; & energy information business centers.

Activities are aimed at:

  • Children, pupils and students at all educational levels,
  • Mass media audience,
  • ESCOs,
  • policy and decision makers,
  • International and national organisations for rational use of energy and environmental protection
  • National Energy saving programme,
  • National Programme on Renewable energy sources,
  • Information,Advice, publication and consulting on EE and RES issues,
  • EE and RES activities at local level,
  • Public awareness and better citizens' behaviour on EE and RES

Specific activities include:
