Center for Energy, Environment and Resources - CENER 21

CENER 21 Center is involved in the following activities:

• Support of the social and economic development of B&H through provision of expertise, strategic planning and development in the area of environmentally and socially friendly efficient use of energy and resources, as well as environmental protection in B&H;
• Cooperation and coordination with relevant institutions in the country, region, Europe, and the world;
• Coordination and representation on domestic and international expert conferences in the area of environmentally and socially friendly efficient use of energy and resources, as well as environmental protection;
• Creation of the basis for development of legal acts in the area of environmentally and socially friendly efficient use of energy and resources, as well as environmental protection;
• Creation of techno-economic documents and completion of projects in the area of environmentally and socially friendly efficient use of energy and resources, as well as environmental protection for the needs of B&H state institutions, energy consumers and industry in the region and broader;
• Preparation and development of studies in the energy field (diversification and interconnection, renewable resources, etc.);
• Perform expert analyses and calculations of energy indicators, energy statistics;
• Development of a proposal for the Balance of B&H energy needs;
• Preparation and application of European and world regulations and laws in B&H in the mentioned areas with the aim of fulfilling requirements for joining the EU;
• Drafting of studies, implementation of projects and coordination of activities aimed at increasing the energy efficiency in B&H;
• Drafting of studies, implementation of projects and coordination of activities in the area of climate changes in B&H, following the directives of appropriate international conventions;
• Analyses of investment opportunities in the areas of energy, environment and material processing;
• Drafting of directives for management, efficient use and conservation of energy;
• Optimization of production/purchase and consumption of energy;
• The influence of regulation and de-regulation of costs of energy and energy sources on the development of B&H;

Areas of expertise: Climate change issues; Increasing energy efficiency in buildings, industry and transportation; Networking towards sustainable energy; Consulting in coal sector(supply and demand), oil and gas, power generation, power transmission and power distribution, new technologies, renewable energy; Environmental Impact Assessment; Social Assessment; Economics and financing of energy infrustructure.
