EMA - Energy Management Agency Popovo has been established with the support of the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.

The main objectives of the Agency are:

• To support the regional, economical and ecological growth of the Municipality of Popovo;
• To perform investigations, analyses, prognoses and consultations in actual problems about the steady development and the energy efficiency;
• To develop strategies for energy efficiency and steady development and systems for monitoring, control and assessment;
• To develop energy efficiency projects and to apply for the European Union programmes and other sources of financial support and to be involved in the management of these projects;
• To organize qualification, training and information seminars concerning the energy efficiency and steady growth;
• To establish public-private partnerships in the sphere of steady growth and energy efficiency.

The Agency's objectives will be achieved by:

• maintaining the database with information about the Municipality economical profile, the consumption of energy, the state of buildings fund;
• analysis and information exchange;
• training and qualification;
