General Info

The Porto Energy Agency (AdEPorto) was created on March 1, 2007 as a non profitable private association with the support of the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.

The purpose of the Agency is to contribute, in its area of intervention, to:

  • The rational use of energy, namely through the planning and management on the energy demand;
  • The energy efficiency;
  • The environmental management with an interface with energy;
  • The best use of the energy resources;
  • The enlargement of good practices regarding the planning, management, construction and sustainable mobility.

The object of the Agency is to contribute, in its area of intervention, namely to:

  • Promote and cooperate, with the Town Hall of Porto, in the definition, application and development of an energy-environmental strategy and a strategy for the mobility within the city, integrating these strategies on the urban management planning;
  • Guarantee the effort conjugation and coordination of the different public organisations and private entities involved on the political accomplishment of the rational use of energy and valuation of renewable energies;
  • Support and advice the economic agents regarding energetic issues and correlative environmental, in order to use methodologies, systems and technologies compatible with a sustainable development;
  • Promote the penetration of concepts and proper technologies to the efficient use of energy and of endogenous energy resources and to foster the development, production and utilization of equipments and efficient energy systems
  • Promote and disseminate technical, economical, and financial information by the energy consumers;
  • Promote the training needed at the domains developed by the Agency.
