General Info

The National Energy Foundation is an independent not for profit (UK registered charity) energy agency based at Milton Keynes in the UK. Its objective is to empower individuals and organisations to take action to reduce their carbon emissions and counter climate change through energy efficiency and the use of sustainable energy sources.

Core activities include:

  • Consultancy services for a wide range of organisations that wish to consider renewable energy resource assessments, technical feasibility studies and advice in different areas which could include: energy efficiency, planning and logistics, environmental/energy strategy, energy/carbon labelling, information on grants/suppliers and financial analysis and estimates of carbon savings.
  • Training individuals, employees and communities on all aspects of sustainable energy, including behavioural change. Some courses are open to the public; others are offered in-house.
  • Providing secretariat services and supporting infrastructure for the UK's Green Energy Supply Certification Scheme, the Carbon Trust Standards, and both the Solar Trade and Ground Source Heat Pump Associations.
  • Working with local communities to help implement low carbon solutions, including technical energy assessments and finding access to capital funding.
