General Info

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) works through partnerships towards the sustainable and efficient use of energy. The primary motivator for this is tackling climate change, i.e: reducing carbon emissions.

The mission of the EST is "to inform and transform; to turn good intentions into effective action."

Its focus is on:

  1. domestic energy efficiency
  2. small-scale renewables
  3. clean road transport

Within these areas, EST undertakes work on:

  • developing policy
  • running grant programmes
  • managing national support infrastructure and building capacity
  • running marketing campaigns
  • evaluating initiatives and programmes

Areas of expertise:

  1. evaluation of sustainable energy initiatives in the domestic sector;
  2. development of policy and regulatory frameworks conducive to the promotion of energy efficiency
  3. development and administration of grant schemes for sustainable energy products and initiatives
  4. development of partnerships and community activities for the promotion of sustainable energy
  5. promotion of energy efficiency to consumers.
