General Info

Greenitiative Association promotes a new way of living and an economy based on sustainability. Since 2007, we have developed mainly projects related to promoting energy sustainability issues in Romania and at educating young people about energy sustainability and sustainable development.
We have been working with 20 schools and high schools, from Bucharest and from other cities and villages in Romania, we developed educational kits on energy sustainablity and methods of training support groups in schools on introducing energy efficiency measures. Our project "Terra, our only home" is a multi-anual project involving more than 4000 students and 200 teachers and using formal and nonformal educational methods.
We partner with local authorities, professional associations, private companies and the academic world in order to introduce sustainable chnages in the public buidings, especially in schools.
Greenitiative is the first Romanian NGO to have a low-energy and clean energy office (since September 1st 2010) and we are going to use this place as a teaching tool for introducing young people (including university students) to real energy sustainability measures that can be used in our homes.
Greenitiative, official partner of Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, organized in Bucharest a successful conference during EUSEW 2010 entitled "Energy Day in Bucharest: Schools as Future Models of Sustainable Public Buildings".
