EnCon Services Ltd

EnCon Services International and EnCon Services Ltd were established respectively, in Washington and in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2004 to take advantage of the growing opportunities in Eastern European and former USSR countries for energy efficiency and renewable energy project development.

Prior to the establishment of EnCon, its staff was responsible for setting the standard for energy efficiency project development and financing throughout EU Accession Countries, with the implementation of the US Government sponsored Development Credit Authority in Bulgaria - a credit guarantee facility for energy efficiency project development. This successful programme led to the establishment of the EBRD's first sustainable energy financing facility - Bulgaria Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line - for which EnCon is currently providing technical assistance, and which has served as the model for subsequent sustainable energy finance facilities of EBRD in Georgia, Slovakia, Romania, and a second facility in Bulgaria. This EnCon's experience has been also successfully utilized for the implementation of the KfW Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Facility in Montenegro.
