The mission of Únie miest Slovenska (Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia) is to:

Protect rights and interests of members in relation to legislative and executive state authorities as well as to other organizations, unions, associations and home and foreign institutions,
Present issue of territorial self-administration, especially cities as centers of settlement in front of public,
Provide to members advisory and informational services and coordination of municipal policy activities especially in the area of protection, restoration, development and permanent sustainability of environment and cultural heritage, educational system, social and health services, local and regional development,
Ensure permanent human resources development and especially continuous proficiency improvement of elected representatives and executive or expert clerks at municipal offices, institutions, organizations and facilities.
Promote personal, financial, institutional and tax independence of municipalities.
Create conditions for ensuring of experiences exchange and contacts establishing of members with foreign interest associations and institutions with similar intent and with other foreign entities.
Create conditions for activities of various specialized interest and professional groups in the framework of Union's organizational structure,
Based on voluntary provided data create information database about associated cities and ensure their presentation home and abroad.
