General Info

Northwoods aims to support the forestry and biomass sectors in the north east of England. We do this by providing support and links between the public and private sectors, and providing expertise to stimulate the market.

We also have generic renewable energy expertise, and use it to provide support to community renewable energy projects.


Areas of expertise: Promotion of technology, dissemination of information, research and policy development, technical assistance on biomass projects, feasibility studies for biomass and other renewables, strengthening and support for the biomass fuel supply chain, managing woodfuel producer groups.


Target audience: Public sector, private sector (in particular small business), media.
