Areas of expertise include:
- Provision of impartial energy advice to householders.
- Working in partnership with local authorities to help them meet their HECA targets.
SCARF (Save Cash and Reduce Fuel) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and was established in 1985 to alleviate fuel poverty, promote energy efficiency and create sustainable employment.
SCARF is meeting its aims by providing comprehensive energy advice to householders, working in partnership with local authorities and creating energy awareness through its work with schools and local voluntary agencies.
SCARF has a number of areas of expertise, including:
- Advice Services, in addition to the 2 EEACs in Aberdeen and Dundee, it also has energy efficiency projects working in Aberdeenshire, Perth & Kinross, & Moray.
- Training Services, registered training organisation for NVQ level 1&2, New Deal, City and Guilds.
- Energy Services, installation of draught proofing, loft and pipe insulation, cavity wall insulation etc.
- Local Authority Support Programme (LASP), to help LAs meet their HECA targets
- SME advice, free impartial advice to small business.
- Renewables, SCRI, initiative to develop small scale community renewable projects.
- Education work, creating awareness of energy efficiency by working with local primary schools
