General Info

Climate Alliance Austria is a non governmental and non-for-profit making organisation consulting and supporting cities and municipalities in Austria in their efforts of local action in climate protection by promoting global thinking. The 880 member municipalities commit themselves to reduce CO2 emissions by 10% every 5 jears by reaching a 50% reduction (basis 1990) by 2030, to dispense from the use of tropical timber and to support the indogenous partners in Amazonia. Furthermore over 200 educational institution and 400 private businesses are member of Climate Alliance in Austria, equally agreeing to actively set measures in climate protection. Climate Alliance Austria has offices in all 9 federal regions in Austria and is participating in a large number of regional, national and international projects aiming at realising climate protection on local level.
