General Info
AECIM is a large association of enterprises in the metal industry in Madrid region, being part of the Confederation of spanish employers CEIM-CEOE. Around 7.000 enterprises, mainly SMEs, are integrated into the association, covering several subsectors within the metal industry: metal processing, mechanics, metal coatings, aeronautics/aerospace, telecomms, hardware/software, electronics, automation, auxiliary manufacturing for vehicles, etc.
AECIM provides expert advice to the SMEs in environment and energy sustainability, participating in the development and improvement of the regulatory framework, prepares analyses, studies and expertise assesments in the field of industrial policy, environment and industrial relationship, tax and labour relations; also involved in internationalization issues, innovation and know-how transfer.
AECIM maintains a close relationship with municipalities, regional and national government bodies.
AECIM has establishe a close relationship with the regional and national innovation and R&D institutions in order to link SMEs with R+D+i and improve competitiveness and internationalization, provide technology expertise and funding, in environment and energy sustainability, among others.
AECIM takes part in the Enterprise Europe Network Madrid consortium since long time ago, providing services to the SMEs in international cooperation, innovative processes, technology transfer and development, technolgy-based enterprises, consultation on european questions. Within Enterprise Europe Network AECIM took part in specific calls for projects: "Environmental services for SMEs for diverse submetal sectors" participating in another European consortium.
