General Info

The Institute of Physical Energetics, Latvian Academy of Sciences (IPE LAS) is the leading institute in Latvia in the field of energy research. Its main activities cover a wide scope of energy research issues, such as modelling and analysis of:
  • energy-environment interactions
  • energy-environmental policy studies
  • pricing and tariffs in the energy sector
  • energy efficiency improvement and energy conservation programmes
  • problems of the use of renewable and domestic (biomass, peat) energy resources
