DeOPSys Lab - University of the Aegean

The Laboratory of Design, Operations and Production Systems (DeOPSys Lab) is situated at the research centre of the Department of Financial & Management Engineering at the University of the Aegean (www.aegean.gr). DeOPSyS Lab is a leader in promoting the University collaboration with private companies and public authorities. During the last 8 years, the DeOPSyS lab has been involved in 10 European and National research projects with core activity the support of private and public firms in state-of-the-art technological development and technology transfer.

The lab focuses on the following research streams:

• Freight transportation
• Intelligent Transportation Systems
• Environmental sustainability of logistics operations (green logistics)
• Effects of IT and e-commerce on logistics
• Performance measurement, benchmarking and data collection in logistics
• Production systems
• E-commerce applications & services

The staff of the lab (3 Faculty Members, 5 PhD students, 2 MSc student, 2 Undergraduate students, 1 laboratory assistant) has been involved in activities that include design and implementation of innovative applications, development of OR methods for green transport operations, training and technology transfer in private and public companies and has gained significant expertise, unique in the region.
