General Info

The European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) is the voice of the solar thermal industry, actively promoting the use of solar thermal technology for renewable heating and cooling in Europe.
ESTIF now has around 100 members from 19 European countries representing the entire supply chain, from manufacturing to installation and components, including also research and test institutes, consultants, and national solar thermal associations.

ESTIF coordinates European policy, communications, research and analysis, cooperating with solar thermal key players on a number of market development projects. It provides regular, relevant and up-to-date industry information as well as various services to support members’ requirements, acting among others as the official Solar Keymark Secretariat.

ESTIF analyses, formulates and determines policy positions for the solar thermal industry on key issues such as eco-design, energy efficiency and performance of buildings, In addition, the lobbying activities undertaken by ESTIF help create a suitable legal framework within which members can successfully develop their businesses.

ESTIF is the main coordinator of the European Solar Days and organizes every two years the largest international conference dedicated to solar thermal worldwide. The 5th European Solar Thermal Energy Conference (estec2011) will take place on 20-21 October 2011 in Marseille (France).

ESTIF is also a founding member of EREC, the European Renewable Energy Council, with whom it shares headquarters in Brussels’ Renewable Energy House.
