The aims of Provincia di Milano are to promote, across the territory of the Provincia, a rational use of energy through a monitoring campaign on the consumption of conventional fuels, and to promote the use of renewable energy.

Activities are aimed at industry, SME, citizens and students.

Specific focus areas include: advice on heat pump technology, financial support to promote RES, energy auditing on heaters and education on RES in schools.

Punti Energia S.c.a.r.l. is the Central Co-ordination Unit of a non-profit Association founded in 1996 by the Lombardy Region and its Provinces and supported by the EU SAVE programme. This Network of Local Agencies promotes the rational use of energy and the exploitation of renewables within a framework of sustainable development in the Lombardy Region.

Punti Energia S.c.a.r.l. has five local agencies:

• Punto Energia Milano - the base for the Coordination Unit
• Punto Energia Como
• Punto Energia Cremona
• Punto Energia Lecco
• Punto Energia Pavia
• Punto Energia Varese

The Central Unit has a director supported by a staff of sector responsibles and carries out the following tasks:

• fostering the opening of new agencies
• promoting joint initiatives and campaigns in support of the Network
• guaranteeing a quality policy in service supply
• providing technical, logistic and instrumental support to local agencies
• implementing communication and networking activities at regional, national and European scale
• starting up projects with the EU by participating in transnational calls for proposals

• RTD of energy integrated systems
• Contract definition of energy management services with third party financing
• Feasibility studies for the promotion of RES
• Environmental impact studies and assessment reports
