Gävle Dala Energikontor promotes energy efficiency and RES with an emphasis on the environment. The Agency works in close cooperation with the 25 local authorities in the region and the energy advisors. The work is carried out in cooperation with local energy advisors and Agenda 21 coordinators, mainly concerning dissemination of information through websites, exhibition material and brochures.
One important aim for the agency is to promote the use of energy from biomass to improve the environment and the employment.
Another important issue is energy planning. The agency promotes the updating of energy plans/climate strategies and assists the local authorities in this work. Various companies on the energy market are project partners to Gävle Dala Energikontor, including those involved in both forestry and energy.
