The objectives of the Instituto Enerxtico de Galicia are the promotion and pursuit of initiatives and programmes for research on and support of actions pursuing the knowledge, development and application of energy technologies (including renewable energy technologies), the improvement of energy saving and efficiency, the promotion of the rational use of energy and, in general, the optimal management of energy resources in the various sectors of the Galician economy, and involvment in the management and, if applicable, provision, of services in synergetic fields, in conformity with the directives of the Government in its area of competence.
