OTB Research Institute for Housing, Urban and Mobility Studies conducts research in the field of effectiveness of policy instruments for energy conservation and stimulating application of RES in the building sector. Research subjects include evaluation studies of energy regulations, inventories, energy regulations in European Member States and possibilities for their harmonisation in Europe.

Target audience includes: local, regional and national governmental bodies involved in energy conservation and CO₂ reduction in the building sector.
