Wind power is the fastest growing energy production method in Finland. The Finnish Wind Power Association (FWPA) was set up in 1988 to promote wind power in Finland.
FWPA is active on spreading information and affecting decision-making on the behalf of wind power. Association organises seminars on wind power and publishes Tuulensilmä (Wind Eye) magazine, which acts as a information channel for the association and wind power in general.
FWPA participates in European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) with one board member (currently our chair Bengt Tammelin). It is also co-operating with VTT Energy and the Finnish Meteorological Institute to produce Finnish wind energy statistics.
FWPA has a sister organisation - Vindkraftföreningen - aimed at Swedish speaking Finns.
