ECLAC helps ensure that sustainability is assigned priority in the formulation of energy and transport policies in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. This is done by reinforcing and coordinating the activities of different organizations (national and multilateral), aiming to promote clean and modern energy and transport technologies and policies. It supports both non conventional energies and energy efficiency through field projects, advisory servicies, and other activities, such as promotion of Modern Energy & Transport Technology (i.e. OPET Mercosur project).
