Further Information

Adiconsum is one of the main Italian consumer association with over 120,000 members, created in 1987 by the initiative of CISL Trade Union. It is committed to consumer protection and operates in full autonomy from the political parties, the government and the Trade Union itself. It is present in all the Italian Regions with 280 local offices which provide consumers with information and advice. It is supported by the work of 600 collaborators and volunteers. The activity of consumer protection is carried out by Adiconsum both promoting consumer interests within Italian and European institutions and providing individual advice and assistance services directly to citizens.

Adiconsum has a very active Energy and Environmental Department, which carries out information and dissemination activities among consumers on the available technologies for energy saving and RES (most of which co-funded by the European Commission). Adiconsum has carried out in the years 2002-2004, in fact, the RES&RUE Dissemination project, co-funded by the European Commission within the Altener Programme, foreseeing a wide information and dissemination campaign among citizens as well as technicians in Italy, Spain and Greece on the use of RES and RUE. The project is simultaneously being carried out in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

The Energy and Environmental Department also ensures its representation in the main private and public bodies dealing with energy-related issues.
