The main activities of the Lithuanian Energy Agency are:

  1. Revising and updating of the National Energy Efficiency Program; organization of its implementation.
  2. Organization and implementation of the requirements set forth in EU directives on energy resources, improvement of energy efficiency and use of local, renewable and waste energy resources.
  3. Organization of execution of the special program for implementation of energy saving projects.
  4. Participation in implementation of environmental requirements in the energy sector;
  5. Organization of energy audits, monitoring, training courses and seminars. Provision of information and advice on energy use efficiency;
  6. Accumulation and analysis of technical information on the use of local and renewable energy resources in Lithuania and abroad. Consultancy, awareness campaigns, informational material regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy sources;
  7. Participation in heat sector planning; preparation of the related legislation and regulations.
  8. Participation in common energy programs and projects of the Baltic States and Baltic Sea States.
  9. Preparation of information on energy.
  10. Planning of multilateral and bilateral foreign assistance and cooperation programs in the energy sector and supervision of their implementation;
  11. Organization, coordination and supervision of the process of harmonization of Lithuanian legislation and EU legal requirements in the energy sector as well as their implementation.
