POLIS is an association of European cities and regions working together on transport and environmental issues, in particular via innovative technologies, policies and funding systems.
The network was founded in 1989 and currently represents over 60 cities and regions from 17 European countries, including Central and Eastern European countries.
One of the prime objectives of the POLIS network is to assist cities and regions in creating integrated and sustainable transport systems.
Another key activity of POLIS is to act as a strong lobbying voice for European cities and regions to the European Union.
