In December 2002 the European Solar Industry Federation (ESIF) merged with the Active Solar Thermal Industry Group (ASTIG) to form ESTIF - the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation.

Its founding members are 13 national Solar Thermal associations from EU members states and Israel, as well as 28 manufacturers and service providers involved in the Solar Thermal business all over Europe.
