The mandate of the ISEO is to achieve better world-wide technology transfer, better international standards and statistics, better sustainability education, easier financing - also long term, elimination of harmful subsidies and better total energy costing. This will be achieved in part through the dissemination of the "Blueprint for the Clean, Sustainable Energy Age" and the "Global Energy Charter for Sustainable Development".

Areas of expertise: Changing citizens' awareness and behaviour, complete statistics, dissemination of information, advice on all sustainable energy issues, guidelines for energy auditing, promotion and transfer of clean, benign technology, energy efficiency in all applications, CHP, wind farms, solar energy, hydropower etc.

Target audience: UN bodies, Governments, relevant NGOs, Communities, Industry, Finance, Insurance, Academia, R&D and Experts.
