APER - Association of Producers of Energy from Renewable sources - was set up in April 1998 following the broadening of the field of action of APEI (Association of Producers of Hydroelectric Energy), set up way back in 1986. Since its beginning, APER acted as promoter of a Committee of Co-ordination among the representatives of the various renewable sources so as to face up, in a united way, to the change taking place in the energy sector, having influence on the issue of the Italian Green Paper on renewables.
APER counts more than 250 members among the Italian electricity producers from RES, totaling more than 7.000 GWh of annual RE-production. The main aim of the Association is to represent the interests of RE producers and to contribute to enlarge the debate on renewable energies, by means of Seminars, of participation to National and International projects, of cooperation with the main stakeholders and policy makers.
Areas of expertise: Legislation development and analysis; RE market analysis; RE technology; Dissemination of information.
Target audience: RES power producers, local authorities, investors in the RES sector, transmission system operator and local electricity distributors, members of government.
