ABITA is an Interuniversity Research Centre in the field of environmental technologies. The members are: University of Florence, Polytechnic of Milan, University of Naples Federico II, University of Rome La Sapienza.
The main objectives of ABITA activities are: to promote, organize and develop research activities in the field of systems and architectural technologies and in the transformation of the built natural environment; in particular: to integrate into the design process advanced technologies aiming at energy saving, to develop evaluation instruments for the control of the quality of the transformation interventions of the built environment, to apply instruments for the control of the quality of the transformation interventions of the built environment, to apply instruments methodologies and innovative in the formation of the operators in the field of studies on Bioecological Architecture and on employment of innovative technologies for the environment.
Areas of expertise: energy conscious design, smart buildings, energy auditing, promotion of technology, energy efficiency in buildings, energy saving strategies, solar energy, building integration of photovoltaic systems, teaching - dissemination of information, advice on specific energy issues.
Target audience: Activities are aimed at European Commision Directorates, European Parliament, Governmental authorities, Regional entities, Municipalities, Utilisties and municipal suppliers, Private companies involved in RES, RES users and research and development institutes.
