The MIR International Cooperation Fund exists to facilitate the improvement of economic and social well-being of the population of Primorskiy Krai and the City of Vladivostok through development and implementation of international cooperation projects in a variety of fields.

At present, MIR International Cooperation Fund is mainly focusing its efforts on:

• Social Systems Design - creation and ongoing support of effective mechanisms that ensure sustainable socioeconomic development (key fields: civil education, environmental protection);
• Renewable Energy (dissemination of information about renewable sources of energy, technologies available to use these sources, and the concept of energy efficiency; practical application of non-traditional energy generation technologies); and
• Event Management - coordination, in cooperation with other organizations, of international exhibitions, trade shows, congresses, and symposia aimed at finding solutions to social and economic problems of modern Russia, Primorskiy Krai, and the City of Vladivostok.

The Fund has a permanent rented office and seven full-time staff.

The number of project volunteers varies from a few to dozens depending on the nature of the project. The key managerial personnel have been with the organization for 7 to 10 years. Three are alumni of various training programs organized by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). In implementing projects, the Fund draws upon its own resources and may partner with other organizations if required.
