Aliance Aktivni Venkov is a non-profit organisation that supports production of energy from straw biomass and energy crops. Members of the Alliance come from small villages near the border; they are farmers with about 200-800 acres grass land grown only for biomass, as well as the Mayor of the Village.
The Alliance is part of a European Union project on Cogeneration producing heat and electricity from biomass.
