The German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce is one of the first German Chambers of Commerce abroad to be commissioned to develop and carry out activities in the field of renewable energy with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of RE systems in the Irish market. The first phase of the initiative, involving the following projects, has been successfully completed:

• A market study on the potential of renewable energy in Ireland
• Seminars and presentations on renewable energy, using the backdrop of German expertise in this field
• Trade mission to Ireland for German manufacturers of renewable energy technology, with the aim of building business relationships with Irish partners

The following projects are still ongoing:

• Company-Pool project for German manufacturers of renewable energy technology.
• Consultancy for key decision-makers in the field of RE in Ireland.
• Consultancy for the global network of German Chambers of Commerce abroad.
• Development of an online renewable energy e-marketplace, under the guidance of the German-Greek Chamber of Commerce.
• Renewable Energy Projects Directory.
