The objectives of AIET - Agencia Insular de Energía de Tenerife are defined as:

  1. To improve Tenerife island sustainable development by promoting energy saving and efficiency through saving and power efficiency actions, as well as by promoting renewable energy.
  2. To develop, in collaboration with local entities, innovative actions for the promotion of renewable energy, power saving and the increase of power efficiency, serving as guide for users for helping to modify some habits of power consumption, respect to energy sustainability.
  3. To publish documents related to the different aspects of the power sub-sectors, especially on power saving and efficiency, as well as the advantage of the renewable energies.
  4. To promote investigation, economic development and demonstration of new power technologies.
  5. To establish training plans in power matters.
  6. To assist local corporations in the elaboration of power plans.
  7. To give advice to small and medium companies with the purpose of improving the power efficiency in its processes and facilities.
  8. To promote and to support the participation of companies and local institutions in national and international power programmes.
  9. To establish systems of transferance of experiences by means of the cooperation with other Energy Agencies, on national and international scale.

Areas of expertise: photovoltaic, solar, energy efficiency, biofuels, sustainability, local action, dissemination of information, advice on specific energy issues, energy auditing, promotion of technology, energy efficiency in buildings, wind farms, solar energy, renewable energy (wave and wind produced), windfarms infrastructure.
