Energy Club was founded in 1990, by 10 Hungarian green organisations. In September 1995 it was registered as an independent organisation and in 1998 the Energy Club received the status of an "organisation of outstanding public benefit".
Energy Club's Aim:
Energy Club was founded in 1990 with the aim of contributing to the birth of a civilised energy-consuming, sustainable society in Hungary and on the European continent. To this end it takes part in the preparation of energy policy decision making, offer expert consultation and information services as well as showing alternative solutions through our pilot projects.
Energy club works in: energy policy, climate protection, popularising renewable energy and energy efficiency and strengthening nuclear safety. The Energy Club is a rapidly evolving NGO, developing its activities along strategic commitments, fostering energy-related issues throughout the CEE region.
Energy Club is run by 13 young professionals, working on above mentioned issues. It has established a network called AGREENET within 10 Central Easten Europian NGO at 2005. With the aim of providing capacity development for weak NGOs, and working together on lobbying for sustainable energy in the region.
Energy Club has been involved in numerous dissemination projects, to popularise RES and EE nationwide. It participates in and manages festivals, forums and seminars for NGOs and for the public in this theme.
