The Energy and Environment (E&E) programme of Winrock International India promotes sustainable energy development through accelerated commercialisation of energy efficiency and clean and renewable energy technologies. Its main aim is to bring about significant improvement in the quality of life of the people through sustainable solutions linked to development processes.
Areas of expertise: Major initiatives of E&E are in the areas of market development for renewable energy, improving access to energy - including rural electrification and capacity building at various levels to enable and improve access to finance and credit services for renewable energy and energy efficiency and promotion of energy-efficient technologies in different sectors that include modernisation of small and medium enterprises. E&E also works towards the promotion of policies for creating and enabling environment for clean and renewable energy market development and adoption of energy-efficient products in the country.
