Energy from Waste : Industry : Transnational Associations

CEWEP is the European representation of 340 municipal Waste-to-Energy plants in 16 countries, with an annual capacity of 48 million tonnes. These Waste-to-Energy plants treat waste in an environmentally sound way and produce energy from it, which they deliver to citizens and to industry.

Waste-to-Energy Plants replace the energy produced by conventional power plants, using fossil fuels. This is how they contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and to climate protection.
