Agència de l'Energia de Lleida was established in 2008 with the support of the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.

The Agency aims to:

• promote energy efficiency in buildings, industry and transport, and the use of renewable energies as major elements of sustainable development
• establishment of local structures to fulfil specific local needs
• offer added values, including: create new local jobs; promote creation of SMEs (in the energy sector); foster competitiveness of SMEs; offer energy services to society; induce changes of behaviour; education and awareness raising
