Mayo Energy Agency was established in 1998 under the SAVE II programme by the EU and the local authroity. The SAVE funding finished in Dec 2001.

The mission of Mayo Energy Agency is to

• reduce the present energy consumption levels in Mayo
• promote the efficient and rational use of energy (electricity, oil, solid fuel etc.)
• provide an energy awareness to the general public
• promote and facilitate renewable and sustainable energy technologies

Activities include:

• Energy Auditing
• Renewable feasability studies - wind, solar, geothermal
• Tariff analysis
• Education

Target audience: Local authority, Local commercial and industrial sectors, Community groups and Educational institutions.
