Social Economic Fund (SEF) was founded in March 2003 and has the following aims:

• To contribute inclusion EU standards in local activities;
• To stimulate mastering of new, progressive social and technological knowledge;
• To contribute project development for improvement of ecological situation.

Areas of expertise: changing citizens' behaviour; dissemination of information; advice on specific energy issues; small wind farms; energy efficiency in buildings

Target audience: Latvian society, municipalities, local authorities

Projects connected with energy efficiency and ecological situation improvement in which SEF is/was participating are:

• MOBENAW (Mobilise Energy Awareness); IEE, 2007-2010;
• RADAR ( Raising Awareness on renewable energy Developing Agro-eneRgetic chain models) IEE, 2007-2009;
• MODEL (Management Of Domains related to Energy in Local Authorities), IEE, 2007-2010;
• BioNett (Developing local supply chain networks for linking Bio-fuel producers with public sector users), IEE, 2005-2008;
• Development of Wind Energy in Baltic Sea Region - Latvian Perspective. 2003-2005;
