ZAB is the central organisation in Brandenburg to support business by consulting, foreign marketing, technological development, energy saving and the use of renewable energies. As merger of the former energy agency, the economic development board and the innovation agency it still fulfills the legal obligation of Brandenburg to offer first aid consultancy to all energy users and suppliers now having a more technology oriented focus. ZAB-Energie is the first mover to follow the energystrategy 2010 of Brandenburg with producing enterprises, buildng owners, transportation suppliers, energy companies and agriculture and forestry companies.

Particular areas of expertise include energy management in cities, housing companies,industry, solar energy promotion, development of woodfuel use, energy technology transfer.
