The Berlin Energy Agency was founded in 1992 as a private limited company on the initiative of the Berlin Senate with the aim to identify energy saving potentials and to facilitate the implementation of renewable energy sources. Equal partners of Berlin Energy Agency are KfW Bankengruppe (public law corporation), Bewag, GASAG (utilities) and the State of Berlin.
An aware handling of energy has become more important than ever. Not only for environmental but also for economical reasons. Almost everywhere energy consumption make up a considerable share of the total costs and harms the environment. Energy saving potentials remain undetected because of the lack of know-how and investment.
The experience of the Agency as an operator of small-scale CHP and solar plants secure the know-how needed for the concept development in our consulting division. They develop and implement innovative projects including Third Party Financing models.
The Agency acts as a:
Target audience: public authorities and non-commercial institutions, hospitals, housing companies, industrial plants as well as small and medium-sized companies
