The winning entries in the First ManagEnergy Drawing and Photography Competition 2006 - Changing the European Landscape were officially announced in Paris on Friday 22nd September 2006.

The announcement was made at the Education à l'énergie European Conference, organised by ARENE in association with the Conseil régional d'Ile-de-France, and attended by energy education actors from across Europe.

The winner in the 7-11 picture category was Grace Shanahan-Smith, age 11, of St Katherine's School, Bourenemouth, UK.

A prize presentation was made to Grace and her class mates in September (images were shown in Paris). The school was presented with a range of fun solar kits, a 32W solar panel, and 31 KidsCorner T-shirts. In addition, Grace was presented with vouchers to spend on art materials.

The winner of the 12-16 photography category was Adrián Pérez Velasco, age 13, of Instituto Miguel Hernández in Ocaña.

Unfortunately Adrián was not able to travel to Paris to receive his prize of a digital camera. This will be presented in October by IDEA, the national energy agency of Spain, and the Energy Agency of Toledo.

To mark the occasion in Paris, Jean-Paul Huchon, Président, du Conseil régional d'Ile-de-France, presented a boquet of flowers to Cruz Martin-Granizo from EREN, the regional energy agency of Castilla y Leon, representing energy education actors in Spain.
