Europe is experiencing major challenges in providing energy services to meet the future needs of its people and, in particular, the growing needs of developing countries. This challenge is enhanced by the need to provide these energy services with due respect to following factors:
In conjunction with Cork City Council, Energy Services Limited organised a conference to bring together people to discuss the energy issues facing Europe both now and in the future. The conference, titled 'Promoting a Sustainable Energy Culture in Europe' provided a forum to discuss the issues, identify solutions and meet providers.
The aim of the conference was to present and discuss new developments and trends in energy technologies and services which may make major contributions to sustainable energy developments in Europe. The conference also provided an opportunity to view practical examples of sustainable energy projects through the Cork City Campus facilities. Exhibition facilities at the conference allowed further opportunities to view and discuss technologies and service solutions.
The conference was aimed at energy users, policy makers, service and technology providers to meet and discuss the ways of solving the energy issues facing the public and private sector in Europe. Receptions and events provided the opportunity for participants and presenters to network and share ideas. Speakers were chosen because of their experience and expertise in sustainable energy.
Cork is Capital of Culture 2005, and as such presents an excellent location to hold an event of this nature. The programme allowed delegates to experience the flavour of Irish and international culture in Cork.
