This, the Plenary event of the Sixth ManagEnergy Annual conference, included updates on the Action Plan for Energy Efficiency as well as the presentation of the ManagEnergy Best European Local (Sustainable) Energy Action Award.
It included Round Table and Debate sessions, giving participants in the room and online the opportunity to address questions on the topic "Implications of the Energy package for regional and local actors" to Commissioner Piebalgs and others.

Education Today for Tomorrow's Energy Users brought together key actors involved in bringing quality energy education to the decision-makers and energy users of tomorrow - from educators to national education authorities and local energy agencies. This was the first event in the Sixth ManagEnergy Annual Conference 2007, which this year was part of the EUSEW.
The event included the launch of the 2007 ManagEnergy KidsCorner Photo and Drawing Competition.

This event was devoted to the next and current Intelligent Energy - Europe Programmes. A second Intelligent Energy - Europe programme with a significantly increased budget - about €730 million for the 2007-2013 period - will be launched in 2007. This event was the first opportunity to learn about the funding priorities, budget and timetable for next year. It also presented the results of more than 350 ongoing projects, covering areas such as buildings, industry, transport, urban areas, consumer products, power and heat generation, and co-operation with developing countries.
Urban transport can significantly contribute to achieving policy objectives in areas such as climate change, energy efficiency, congestion, alternative fuels, modal split, road safety, industrial competitiveness, environment, health and social inclusion. This first stakeholder conference linked to the new Green Paper on urban transport brought together representatives from all the sectors that have an interest in the Green Paper. Representatives from the European Commission outlined their plans for the Green Paper. High-level political representatives from the different European institutions and from European cities will present their expectations. During this conference particular attention was paid to the question of subsidiarity and governance. The conference was closed with an intervention by Commission Vice-President Barrot.

The first Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign Award Competition aimed to reward the most outstanding sustainable energy partners. Winning partnerships were honoured during the Award ceremony of 1 February 2007, promoted to the press and showcased as an example of excellence.
The status of the EPBD implementation is a hot topic. What is the present status? What are the trends? The EPBD Buildings Platform collects all relevant information and keeps up to date with current developments by offering a range of services; short information papers, a helpdesk, FAQ, a publications database, ...
This event, focused on the last progresses in the EPBD implementation: the current status of implementation and the developments to be expected in the future, notably in relationship to the EPBD Energy Service Directive and the EC Action Plan. Also the status regarding to the CEN standards was laid out. In the second part, practical questions related to the implementation were discussed thanks to the presentation of results of EPBD related SAVE projects.

This half day event focused on presenting and discussing the key preliminary results of EURELECTRIC's project "The Role of Electricity". This project has been undertaken by universities, consultants and experts. It aims to improve the understanding of European policymakers and stakeholders of the positive role that electricity has to play in responding to key policy, market and societal drivers. The project covers the areas of electricity demand, supply and scenarios for 2030-2050.

EREC - European Renewable Energy Council - co-organised the 2007 European Renewable Energy Policy Conference together with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in the frame of the German Presidency of the EU. The conference attracted over 800 relevant stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds.
